Reflecting on the nomination, Andy said, “It’s a real honour to be recognised alongside so many respected professionals. Our focus has always been on doing the right thing for our clients and making the process as clear and stress-free as possible.”

Why would I need the support of a Loss Assessor?

Many people underestimate how complex a building insurance claim can be. Policy wording, conditions, and negotiations with insurers can easily lead to parts of an insurance claim being missed or undervalued, especially when you’re already dealing with the stress of damage to your home.

Andy leads a team of experienced Loss Assessors and an approved building repair network, supporting home and commercial property owners with:

  • Escape of water damage
  • Fire and smoke damage
  • Storm and weather damage
  • Flood damage
  • Impact damage
  • Subsidence and structural movement
  • Theft, vandalism and malicious damage
  • Trace and access disputes
  • Accidental damage claims
  • Delays, repudiations and claim disputes

Our service is free when we manage the repairs on your behalf. The only cost to you is the insurance policy excess, which is the amount you are required to contribute under your policy terms.

If you choose to take a cash settlement, we charge a percentage of the final claim settlement value.

Our team are happy to explain this detail.

A Loss Adjuster is appointed by the insurer to investigate your claim on their behalf.  Their role includes inspecting damage, reviewing coverage, validating costs, and determining what will be paid, often with a focus on controlling costs and applying policy limits.

This can create risk for policyholders, as parts of a claim may be overlooked, undervalued, or excluded—such as hidden damage.

Without professional support, many policyholders may accept less than they are entitled to, which is why having a Loss Assessor ensures your insurance claim is clearly evidenced, and negotiated in your best interests.

What I’ve Learned From Years of Managing Home & Commercial Insurance Claims

Director attending industry awards ceremony.

In my experience, many homeowners weaken their position on a claim without realising it. This often happens through misunderstandings around what their policy actually covers, underestimating the extent of damage at first notification, or accepting under-scoped repairs or low cash settlements without question.

I regularly see delays in claim progression that go unchallenged, and underinsurance or betterment deductions applied in ways that materially reduce settlements. These issues can have a direct impact on the quality of reinstatement and the overall outcome of a claim.

Insurance claims are technical and process-driven, and the first assessment or settlement is not always the right or final position.

Home and commercial property owners who understand their policy, document damage properly, and challenge incomplete scopes or unreasonable delays are far more likely to achieve fair outcomes.

For practical guidance on specific claim types and common disputes, I’ve set out detailed resources in the Knowledge Hub, covering escape of water claims, fire damage, settlements, policyholder rights, and how to deal with insurers and their appointed representatives.
